White Pumpkin Gourd Recipe
Ingredients
2-3 small gourds
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1/2 cup tomato purée or crushed tomatoes
1/2 teaspoon salt
Pinch of black ground pepper
Instructions
Sauté the onion with garlic until the onion becomes golden and transparent.
Cut the gourd (pumpkin) into cubes of about 1-1.5 cm.
Add the gourd cubes to the onion and continue to steam with lid closed on medium heat until the gourd becomes transparent.
Add tomato paste or crushed tomatoes, salt and pepper, and taste for seasoning.
Continue to steam for another 5-10 minutes and check if cooked. The gourd should be tender but not too soft.
If cooked, turn off the heat.
Storage and Serving
Can be stored in freezer until serving
Heat in microwave before serving
Serve at room temperature
