White Rice (3 Cups Uncooked)

Ingredients

  • 555g uncooked long-grain white rice

  • 1100g water

  • 5g salt (optional)

Method

  • Bring water and salt to a rolling boil.

  • Add rice, stir once to prevent sticking.

  • Return to boil, then reduce to 250F on induction stove and cover tightly.

  • Cook 15–17 minutes.

  • Remove from heat, keep covered, rest 5–10 minutes.

  • Fluff with a fork and serve.

Notes

Lid seal: If your lid doesn’t seal well, reduce water by about 50g.

Altitude: At high altitude, add 50–100g extra water and a couple extra minutes of cooking time.

Resting: Don’t skip it—the resting period redistributes moisture and prevents a wet top layer with crunchy bottom.
