Sushi Rice¶
Ingredients¶
- 2 cups sushi rice
- 3 cups water
- 1/2 cup rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
Preparation¶
- Rinse the rice in a strainer until water runs clear.
- Put rice in medium sauce pan.
- Add water
- Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low.
- Cover.
- Wait 20 minutes.
- Turn off heat.
- Add rice vinegar, oil, sugar, and salt to a small saucepan.
- Cook until sugar dissolves.
- Wait until it’s cool.
- Stir the sauce into the rice until the rice feels dry.
