Sushi Rice

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sushi rice

  • 3 cups water

  • 1/2 cup rice vinegar

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

  • 1/4 cup white sugar

  • 1 teaspoon salt

Preparation

  • Rinse the rice in a strainer until water runs clear.

  • Put rice in medium sauce pan.

  • Add water

  • Bring to a boil.

  • Reduce heat to low.

  • Cover.

  • Wait 20 minutes.

  • Turn off heat.

  • Add rice vinegar, oil, sugar, and salt to a small saucepan.

  • Cook until sugar dissolves.

  • Wait until it’s cool.

  • Stir the sauce into the rice until the rice feels dry.
